Shoulder FAQ

Question:

How long should it take to for my schoulder blade fracture to heal?

Answer:

In a healthy individual, it usually takes six to eight weeks. There is good blood supply to the shoulder blade which probably helps with the healing prognosis. However, tobacco use, other health problems such as diabetes or poor nutrition may delay healing of the fracture. C. Curtis, V. Sharma, L. Micheli, Medicine and Science in Sports & Exercise/i>, 2007.
