Losing Weight The Sports Medicine Way - $149.00*
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) testing and body fat analysis - includes consultation with exercise physiologist including lifestyle, weight loss and exercise prescription.
What is a Resting Metabolic Rate Test?
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) represents the energy expended at rest and is the minimal amount of energy expenditure needed to support basic physiological processes, which accounts for 60-75 percent of the total energy expended each day.
This test will show how many calories your body burns at rest. We will then use this information to determine how many calories your body needs to maintain it's current weight and provide guidelines on expected weight loss based on a certain calorie diet. We include an exercise, lifestyle and weight loss consultation based on results.
This is the most accurate method available to exercise physiologists in identifying RMR. This test takes 20-30 minutes to administer. Patients are in a relaxed lying down position while breathing through a mask. Patients should fast for at least eight hours prior to the test and be free from stimulants such as caffeine or nicotine. It is preferable to administer the RMR test in the morning.
Getting Lean in 2014 - $249.00
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), body composition analysis with exercise consultation and dietitian consultation.
Have you tried many weight loss programs without success? Are you frustrated with your body and want to lose weight using proven safe methods recommended by sports medicine doctors, exercise physiologists and bariatric surgeons?
Resting metabolic rate testing, body fat analysis with lifestyle, weight loss and exercise prescription with exercise physiologist and diet plan and consultation with registered dietician.
The Next Level in Performance - $149.00*
VO2 max test for runners or cyclists (bring your own bike!) and body fat analysis. A popular test for athletes who work with coaches who can use this valuable data to help their athletes train smarter.
Winning Training - $199.00*
VO2 max test with estimated lactate threshold and training prescription based on results. Includes consultation with exercise physiologist.
Eating & Training for Performance - $269.00*
Our most popular package for athletes who want to take their training to the next level. VO2 max test on treadmill or bike (bring your own bike!) and body fat analysis. Estimated lactate threshold based on VO2 results and training prescription with heart rate, RPE zones and calories burned at different speeds. Also includes consultation with exercise physiologist and consultation with our registered dietician who works with athletes to improve performance through eating smarter.
Maximize Performance - $269.00*
This is a popular test for runners and cyclists who want to accurately find out their lactate threshold. This information will provide you with a useful training tool to predict performance and determine what intensity to exercise at to reduce fatigue and improve performance. This package includes a body fat analysis and individual training prescription. The test takes 30-40 minutes and is performed on the bike (bring your own bike) or treadmill. Small blood samples are taken from the earlobe or fingertip.
The Ironman - $299.00*
This is a popular test for triathletes. A VO2 max test on the bike and treadmill plus blood lactate profiling, running/cycling economy, body fat analysis and training prescription. This test is done over two separate days.
*Repeat Testing at 12 week intervals - $99.00*
Add more accurate blood lactate profiling to any test for $50
Blood lactate profiling involves a five minute warmup on the bike or treadmill followed by small incremental increases in power output or velocity every one to three minutes. Blood samples are taken from the earlobe at each work rate to accurately determine the lactate threshold.
